About the Role 

Micropolis is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Design Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacturing of high-speed electronic hardware systems. This role is responsible for the complete hardware development lifecycle, including schematic capture, high-speed PCB design and layout, as well as close collaboration with fabrication and assembly partners to ensure optimal signal integrity, reliability, and manufacturability.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive hands-on experience in hardware design and is capable of supporting product development from initial concept and design through prototype validation, testing, and full-scale production.

Key Responsibilities

  • PCB Design & Development: Execute end-to-end hardware development, including schematic capture, component selection, reference designs, and PCB layout.
  • Compliance & Standards: Design in strict accordance with automotive, manufacturing, and reliability standards, including AEC-Q, ISO 26262, IPC, and EMC/EMI requirements.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Lead proof-of-concept validation, circuit analysis, hardware debugging, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Manufacturing Deliverables: Generate complete fabrication packages, including Gerber files, assembly drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and production documentation.
  • Validation & Inspection: Conduct rigorous design reviews, validation testing, and quality inspections to ensure hardware reliability.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, design records, and progress reports for the team leader.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate seamlessly with multidisciplinary team members to optimize workflow and accelerate project timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hardware design and development.
  • Strong experience in schematic design and PCB layout using tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of digital and analog circuit design, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC principles.
  • Experience with multilayer PCB design, component selection, and hardware validation.
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes, including DFM, DFA, and production documentation (Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly files)
  • Experience in prototype bring-up, hardware debugging, testing, and supporting production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
